The sooner you get here the more likely you’ll get IAH, as mentioned people in class now are getting whatever they want including IAH. Training is excellent from start to finish and you will definitely NOT work with any instructors other than XJT instructors no matter where you SIM at, unless something changes drastically(it won’t in that regard)... they’ve really hit it out of the park with the level of training they provide.

I hope it continues to be XJT Instructors my ATP class was outsourced to an outside academy due to sim availability for those going through Initial.

It’s in our CBA (collective bargain agreement) that company specific training is to be given by pilots on our seniority list. No outsourced instructors

That’s for ATP/CTP, totally different since that’s just for “fun”, and a peak into what kinds of things you’ll see. The XJT instructors used to teach that too but are now too busy with initial training to do it, the actual AQP instruction is still 100% done by XJT instructors and that’s where it really counts.. by comparison even some of the “top” regionals are and have been outsourcing their actual training to Flight safety which is something to consider for a new hire if you want quality training and don’t have previous 121 or military experience..

Thank you, just thought for some reason it will carry over into initial training.

When will the 175 training be AQP too?. I've no idea what the timeline is to get certified, or authorized to do so.

What's the big deal with people being so focused on the E-175? It's a regional jet. If you've never flown one, the 145 is actually a damn nice airplane.

I get the guys who have been on property for a long time and decided to make expressjet a career, they are excited for a new airplane. variety is the spice of life, and it's like getting a new car.

But new hire CFIs expressing so much interest, or even choosing airlines based on what *regional jet* they are going to fly is a little ridiculous.

Here's my advice to people here: Bid whichever *regional jet* is junior and will allow you to fly the schedule you want, or hold the base you want, or hold the seat you want. If you have the seniority to get all of that with the senior airplane, THEN bid the 175.

If you're not staying here for your whole career, then guess what - a 737 or 320 is a lot nicer than the 175. And if the 145 will get you there faster, or spend more time with your family until you do, then don't be so sad if that's what you end up with.

I know the 145 is really nice, I fly the 135 for a living lol.
It doesn't mean I'm not curious about the 175 and expressjet. No bid deal

I'm not disagreeing with your point, but I would say 175 is hell of a lot nicer than a 737.
More advanced, better ergonomics, roomier, etc.

There are many reasons to choose the -145.
1. As it is fielded there will be less flying on the -175. Fewer lines (initially) and much of the flying will need to be used for IOE. Expect to sit reserve and not fly. Expect. May turn out different, but that’s been my perspective on past new airframe fielding.
2. Probably get a line faster in the -145.
3. Probably upgrade faster in the -145, so might as well fly it as an FO.
4. -145 is the same type as the Legacy. Having a type that is common on the Part 91 side can be useful.
