Accepted a 04/22 class date, anyone have access to the limitations/flows/etc to start making flash cards? I’ll appreciate it!

Do you know the airframe (CRJ vs. ERJ)?

I believe all new hires are going to the 145. |
My thoughts.
It's admirable to try and get ahead, but due to the law of primacy, I would be careful about what you study. You don't want to learn something wrong. Flows- I would avoid doing them now unless you KNOW you are doing them correctly. Limits- Again, make sure you are learning the correct XJT limits. I'm not familiar with the ERJ side, but on the CRJ side, there were a few company limits more restrictive than the manufacturer limits (such as flaps). Also, understand that there are "boxed" limits that must be memorized. EPs- usually a little safer to start memorizing the immediate action (boxed), items. Systems- most airlines have gotten away from the "build the airplane" approach to systems, but it's still nice to have a good working knowledge of the systems and for the most part, they are pretty standard across fleets. Yes, I know there can also be some differences. Know what buttons on a panel do, what it means if a light is illuminated. Good luck. |
Does anyone know if they send out any pre study material prior to day 1. I do not want to show up un prepared but also don’t want to study the wrong material, flows, etc. if they don’t, is it better to show up “Green” and let the instructors mold us into what they want or come in with some background of basic limitations regardless of if it’s correct or not?

They don’t send anything out in advance, and they’ll tell you exactly what to study when. It’s very helpful, and I wouldn’t worry about doing anything before you come.

Thanks to everyone for useful feedback! Now during ATP/CTP is breakfast/lunch provided? If I’m ready to take the knowledge exam is there much studying to do for the week, or can I expect to be mostly free after class?
|
You’ll get free breakfast depending on which hotel you have.
