All crj 200’s gone......

By June .....this is gonna be year of transitioning pilots from one plane to another.....They might as well put up the 150% red flag for the rest of the year and make the 200% above 80 hours of credit a permanent contractual item not a monthly thing.

Never really understood why we were operating the 200s instead of pulling 145's out of the desert. Makes since to get rid of them....

The CRJ crews are getting hosed at every turn. How much more chasing RJs all over the country can a person possibly take? (or afford)

Most of those guys are senior and are now going to be able to bid any base in the system, and hold good paying/commutable lines doing it. Not to mention, a lot of the “CRJ crews” will be able to hold the 175 in the near future.

The folks really getting hosed are the CRJ F/A’s.

So are we pulling ERJs out of the desert 1:1 for the CRJs going there? If not, upgrade times will stay stupid high, which makes for a fun job for pilot recruiters to explain.

Excellent point. If it's not like this 1:1 ratio, then majority of FO's at legacy ERJ will be screwed. Can't compete with ASA seniority. Some of those guys where hired before I was even born.

ExpressJet Colleagues,

ExpressJet’s goal is to become United’s preferred regional operator by running a safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation. Consistently achieving that goal is key to getting us selected to fly the next series of growth regional aircraft for United.

To support our goal, we will accelerate the retirement of our CRJ200 aircraft so that they will be gone from our fleet by June of this year. This strategic decision, to simplify our current fleet and move all 50-seat flying to the ERJ145, will reduce the complexity of a third fleet type, contribute to greater operational reliability, improve our operating costs, and – most importantly – establish us as United’s ERJ145 and E175 platform of choice.

To be clear – growth remains at the core of ExpressJet’s business plan. The accelerated removal of the CRJ200 will allow us to fly more ERJ145s by summer and concentrate on adding three E175s per month. And we will continue to recruit 600+ pilots this year.

What does this mean for you? Your Divisional leaders will imminently communicate specific information for you and your workgroup.

Fly safe,
Subodh

We don’t have to pull any out of the desert. I believe we have about 110-125 floating around the system but only enough pilots to fly 85 of them. Bet our spreadsheet pilot would know better about that but guess he’s tied up with the CPP to give his input

FlyRight2876 03-01-2019 05:22 PM

Last I heard 103 airplanes and we're operating high 70's to 85 maybe. So another 200 pilots (CRJ pilots) or so would get us back to 103 and new hires for the 175 and 145 would get us to 126 (max United contracted us for).

wmupilot85 03-01-2019 07:12 PM

The max 126 was for just E145s. The 25 E175s are additional. So as of now, 151 airframes if we can staff them.
