Seriously??

I’ve been in my regional (CPZ) for just a year and I’m bidding 33% as an FO. Had a line one month after IOE. In the base of my choice. And have acquired 657 121 hours in that time.

Where do you get your strange ideas?

Meanwhile, what is your opinion of your own regional? Oh yeah, you posted that....

What’s your definition of “quite a while!!!!”?

Long enough to think you’ve encountered “stagnation,” apparently, despite the claimed “quality of life.”

:p

Why would you think I’m referring to CPZ having 8+ year FO’s in a XJT thread?

Uh, because THIS was your posting:

Generally when people reference MY POST as they call me a kool aid drinker I assume they are intelligent enough to actually be addressing... well, ME, not to put too fine a point on it.

Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa...

You are obviously quite worried about the positive growth now occurring at ExpressJet. New hire numbers are now well above attrition! There are still some positive announcements to come. Most of the attrition is mainly due to CPP numbers. You and Melit can continue to post all the false info you want but most new hires will do their research and see that ExpressJet by far offers them the best opportunity.

As pointed out, just a few years ago Republic was a dumpster fire. ERJ's were being parked due to a lack of pilots. Filed for bankruptcy protection. Being sued by DAL for breach of contract. Man, they were gone. Sharks were circling.
Things change in this industry.

A few of those 8-year FOs are starting class at United on Tuesday....so there’s that.

Those 8 year fo’s are going to have a huge payoff for for enduring the warm glow of the xjt dumpster fire. I’m on 12 year narrowbody pay. I get my first choice for vacation, my kids know that I’ll be home for every holiday, I only fly the good trips, and I made just over $200K last year while working half as hard as any regional pilot. If I choose to sacrifice seniority I can go fly the widebodies or bid narrowbody captain and make some real money. Before life at the majors I only focused on doing what I thought would help me get here. It wasn’t fun, and I can’t imagine doing it again, but it was well worth it. The attrition that the legacy airlines are facing will hopefully keep things moving at a fast pace. Unless we have another 9/11 type major event I don’t see a situation similar to today where having 15+ years seniority at a regional is common. The exception will be those that want to stay where they are and those with some type of negative history that would make legacy employers pass them over.
