CommuteAir Raises CA Pay

United has the means to pay our pilots what we deserve. Mesa pilots are still getting 200-300% pay on days off, and United refuses to pay us more than 150%.

We're*

United owns half of the company and the rest is by a holdings company. If they wanted to fix things here it would happen overnight. It is United after all so maybe in a week or two...

Point is that United holds the strings so if they want to strand passengers during travel season then that's on them. It's not good for business or customer service but what do they care?

I don't see them bumping pay to 200% anytime soon. Most people can only pick up a day or two here or there with min days off anyway.

Now that they hired Larry Snyder to OSC that makes it even less likely. This was the tool from United who was in our crew rooms 3-4 years ago telling us we'd never see 200% again since we "didn't help out during the Holidays after that and hung large screen TV's on our walls with the money." Mind you this was still during the time that new hire F/O's were making $28k a year or something.

Thing is that 200% would make it more viable to come in for a short little 5 hr two day and an overnight. I'm sure the passengers would appreciate getting home at night and the folks in the morning taking the first one out would appreciate not getting their whole trip messed up.

*49 percent of the company.

Commutair needs captains. Expressjet should raise their pay to attract more pilots, but pretending that united controls the pay rates gives the XJT management, or Mana Air, too much of an out.

With your logic, the actual majority owner can say "see? It's united!" And make them a scapegoat.

Makes ya wonder if the new sick leave policy for the CPP is the same. No other regional has that.
