Current work rules?

APC,

I currently have CJO's with XJT and SKYW and class dates roughly the same time. The hourly pay seems to be close enough to be moot but I'm not sure where to find and compare work rules which I understand make or break your life. I'll be living within an hour of IAH and am targeting that as my domicile, don't care what plane (signed for CRJ @ SKYW).

SKYW talked up their commuter policy (or lack thereof) and is offering $7,500 bonus. XJT from what I understand lacks things like trip/duty rig but has $22k bonus + $5k type + $10k override.. which seems like it would more than makeup for less day-to-day pay. The scuttlebutt is that XJT 2nd round of negotiations is on-going and still may come out with marked improvements. Which could potentially make it a rockstar move.

However, SKYW's website seniority page (which I think EVERY airline should have) is showing 2 year upgrades at IAH. I've seen people describe XJT's upgrade at IAH at 8.5 years; recent post have that coming down quickly as new planes come in and the lifers retire.

So in the end I guess two questions:
1) Where can I find/compare current work rules within regionals?
[edit: https://www.aerocrewnews.com/acn/201...-Sep-2019.pdf]
2) Where do you see XJT being early/mid 2020 for work rules and upgrades?

Thanks!
Mike

I don’t know when your class date is, but we will have a new bid before the end of the year that will be more accurate for what to expect going forward. I would guess you will hold IAH faster at XJT as an FO and upgrade a bit faster at SKW. I don’t think you can go wrong either way. The commuter policy is the best in the industry at XJT as far as failed to commute, but no commuter hotels or paid parking.

SkyWest is non-union, it made the choice to go to XJT easy for me. I also live near IAH and am currently in training.

Time to captain in IAH should settle at no more than 2-3 years.

I second this: I’ve been screwed before in 135 by management. No one got in trouble but me (FO on IOE), even though on video the have a cargo guy thrashing the plane. After that, I kept my head down and looked for 121 with unions and I’m really glad that XJT has it. It’s the number one reason why I didn’t even look at SKW. YMMV

Juniority

Current IAH Jr FO that is bidding, i.e. done with IOE is about 4 months.

Same for CA is about 5.75 but that's about 60%ile on the seniority list so I'd expect it to keep falling.

Fell from 12+ to 5+ just this year.
