I’m sure they’ll blame it on not having a volunteer filled for the NC.

Nothing new for Letter 2 on the call still a goal of Dec 12. They expect the 145’s to shrink to only 60 in the system next year, which could reduce flying in ORD, CLE, EWR the most. Possible Western Base of Denver could be in the works for the 175 as well. More 175’s seem to hinge on the success of CRJ 550.

Well its looking like ExpressJet will get the 39 E Jets ordered this summer by United. The economics of the 550 is on the fence but it appears to be a hit with the public! All the YouTube travel bloggers have been signing its praise like mad.

That would be great about the 39 175’s. But downsizing the 145? I thought they were supposed to grow that side as well. Also, United already ordered these E175s? Just wanting to see who they go to? Sorry I’m a newbie.

United hasn’t been shy about saying the 5 year plan is for XJT to become an all E175 fleet and CommutAir will be the ERJ 145 operator. The new E175 aircraft award will be announced in December. After that expect the announcement of the opening of a west coast base (ie. Denver). That falls right in line with GoJet closing their Denver base by summer 2020.

United annouced the order summer 2019 for the E Jets. They didnt say who gets them. Looking at the business side of things United is putting them at ExpressJet. I bet some sort of annoucment will be made in the next 60-90 days.

I agree. A lot of people want to argue about this and that but United has a plan but its a moving target based on how certain things shake out in the next few months. I would say its just shy of guaranteed that ExpressJet will be all E175s by 2023ish.

Makes sense, sounds like the 175s won’t be in Newark haha.
