I wrote a letter of recommendation for an FO a few weeks ago. He’s a great guy , good pilot for his experience level, funny , great life story to tell since he’s from Cuba and has a 4 year degree. On the day he interviewed there were 8 FO’s from XJT and all
got no thank you letters. That’s 8 people under a year with no reason to stay here. The program needs a change.

Imagine getting a no from Aviate and then being displaced from the 175? Most will probably leave in that scenario.
What a total scam.

Has anyone from the Aviate program been in a newhire class at UAL?
We are referring to the union derived data from Aviate successors and those who were unsuccessful. Not CPP or OTS.
Not sure how that’s bitter but ok, whatever you say. Very happy you made it to UA. Perhaps had you applied through the Aviate program, you might not have made it. There’s a pretty clear CJO criteria that differs from programs of the past.

Over Christmas new year we lost a stack of Capt and FOs to Jetblue and Frontier.

In 2016 when the CPP started, it helped stem the massive attrition of both CA's and FO's somewhat, as well as kept what would have been a record number of sick calls down that summer, and the next. Meanwhile interviewing and turning down a TON of good candidates. Morale drops, so they come out with the "streamlined CPP", wash, rinse, repeat. Then 'CPP 2.0", wash, rinse, repeat.
I wouldn't doubt it. CPP had days where up to 15 a day interviewed and only 1-2 were accepted into the program.
Wash, rinse, repeat...

I get the feeling they're going to do it again before too long but it will be the same old thing. A new name but lots of hoops to jump through making it unattainable for most.
