Bonus on first week of training??
 

While snooping around the different carrier profiles, I noticed XJT is giving the first $10,000 of the sign on bonus during the first week of training. I also noticed that there is no training contract. How are they not having people come in for the cash and then bail? Granted, that wouldn't look best on their job history, but it also got me thinking: Don't regional's do background checks AFTER starting class most of the time, in an effort to save money? What happens to those who for some reason get yanked out for not passing their background check?

Ouch. They must be really hurting for pilots.

Unless it recently changed, I think they are giving the full bonus upfront.

there is a difference between training contract and bonus repayment contract.

Its a 2 year payback prorated after 1 year.

You get 10,000 first week. You will get the rest of your sign on bonus upon completion of IOE. Commitment period 24 months from starting training. Pretty reasonable imo

Ah ok, didn't know that half. Yes, I agree, that does seem reasonable.

Can anyone confirm the first bonus payment will continue to be 10k? I thought for some reason that was only for a couple of select months.

No training contract = you can go to XJT to get your ATP CTP, e-145 type, and ATP checkride, then quit and owe nothing.

I actually had already, but they’re not the most responsive so I figured I’d use this board for what it was intended, and see if anyone knew the answer.

Sorry but your going to get the most accurate information from them.

And if you have spent any amount of time on this board you would have figured out its 70% disgruntled, 25% clueless know it alls, and 5% have accurate information.

When I started the first portion of the bonus was payed out within 15 days of signing the contact, the last is after completion of IOE. I haven’t seen the current new hire contact so I referred you to the source for the best answer.

Its 22k total, 10k of it is the first part and you get it when you begin ground school (not ATP/CTP).
