Looking for someone to share some recent experiences please. My apps to the majors are in but who knows how long it will take to get through their process. So I'm looking at applying to ExpressJet after my terminal leave is done - sometime in May. It looks like ExpressJet has hubs in Hou, ATL, and DFW which my family is willing to relocate to any of these markets. My question is - what's the timeline I can expect? From application, to interview, to finding out your hub? I'm prepared to sit reserve for a while, so I'm wondering how likely it will be that I can get to one of these hubs so we can move the family which would make my QOL better. Down the road - if/when the majors call I'm hoping it's one with hubs in those cities as well. Thanks in advance.

Well none of those are hubs for us. IAH is a hub EWR ORD and soon DEN you'd get IAH likely and you could start next class essentially. About a week or two after start you get your base.

Man it's been a while since you looked into XJT. ATL and DFW closed a while ago. Houston base is IAH not HOU. Also ORD, EWR, and CLE(lol) bases. You will get IAH most likely. If you apply you will get hired but I dont know the exact timeframe to get a class date. We need everyone to work here.

One other q - what's the process if I don't get IAH right away? Can I still put in transfers?

You can base trade into IAH if you don’t get it right away. But you will get it assuming you already have your hours

Base assignments have been coming later than that recently, about 8 weeks from when you start is what they told us. Im in a January class and we haven't gotten bases yet

Base awards usually come out during maneuvers training. Once awarded you can submit a base trade request. Prior till Monday’s announcement IAH was slated to be the largest 145 base.

How big was IAH CA now in the latest bid? Still mid 200’s? I bet DEN doesn’t go as senior as it was previously since all those guys are at UAL now. I could see some new hires getting that when it opens... like late summer?

Last email from SK was end of year for DEN. I bet XJT doesn’t open DEN until TSA leaves.
