Ahh....no Mesa's 737 are cargo. They are wanting to get an Amazon CPA

Hello February! It's May and things have changed. The 550 was just a Trojan horse for the UAL scope anyway....get scope relief, say sorry it didn't work out, and magically we have 100+ CRJ-700s at 64-ish seats that never left the system. Don't get scope relief? Keep them around and take credit for an "innovation." Brilliant.

Will the NYC market recover after this crisis? or will people avoid it like the plague?

Don't think so. The point of a BK judge would be to relax scope, and allow more traffic to fly on RJs. UAL still pays for the UAX fuel so it would be hard to justify a 737 fuel cost when a CRJ-550/700/880/ERJ/MRJ/ZRJ would adequately serve the route.

Mesa would be better off flying cargo on the 737-it pays better anyway.

I was referring to his confidence that a judge has authority to relax RJ scope, and to what extent is scope the identity of a labor union and a collective group.
I did not mean to imply Mesa would actually fly a 737 as United express.

Again, I was referencing what scope is as a negotiating currency vs the identity of a labor union and collective bargaining group.

If as the poster stated, a judge could and would strip United Alpa pilots of their negotiated scope protections such as max fleet count, max seats, max range, city parings, then he could in fact, strip them of their identity as organized union labor United pilots in service of United Airlines.

Allowing Scot Kirby to hire a company such as Mesa to fly United passengers in a large aircraft such as a 737 saving thousands over using United pilots would accomplish many goals of BK.

If a judge can and will manipulate scope as easily as he suggest, then what limits are "off limits".
