Update: ExpressJet SkyWest

The latest from the MEC is that Express and SkyWest were essentially unable to see eye to eye on two proposals that were examined namely with job security and flying protection.

At this time, Express has informed SkyWest of their intention to further examine any potential opportunity however, no further talks are scheduled.

Thanks for the update. For some reason I don't get blastmails (yes, I checked and my contact info is correct on the ALPA site, and I'm suscribed to all emails, yet I don't get them!). The updates on the alpa site always seem to be a week behind.

ASA pilots should even be happy about this.

It effects them since they now won't be part of a three-way whipsaw scheme. Just two-way vs. other regionals.

Are you going to post this on every single message board? You don't even work for the company anymore!

I don't believe this for a split second. XJT can say all they want but they aren't the shareholders. If the shareholders want to sell XJT it's going to sell regardless of the what the pilot group wants. They'll get much more than they are currently valued at. If it came down to it they'd vote no confidence and replace the management with someone who will do what they want.

I don't know what would cause you to roll your eyes unless you mis-understood what I wrote.

What I mean is, with a three-way group the underbidding power from management would be quite a bit stronger. With SkyWest owning ASA, there isn't really any.

I hope your right. But the big question is can XJT survive long term? You may all be out of jobs if CAL decides to go ahead with SKYW for Feed. Slowly over time.

Be careful what you wish for. Because the scenerio could happen since CAL hates bream like it sounds like.
