What's the Latest at ASA/Expressjet?
LASA will continue as a separate entity owned by SKywest Holdings or other ownership. In light of the hundreds of millions of dollars Holdings has blown on the XJT/Asa merger, if Delta buys LASA, I don't foresee it merging it with 9E. It would make more sense to keep it as a separate, but wholly owned airline.
There's also the question of how SKYW's 100 new MRJ's will be distributed once scope issues are resolved.

Agreed, for the most part. LXJT will probably not exist after 2017. Delta doesn't want it and United can't afford to buy it. Delta and its contractors will rush to fill the voids caused by the death of LXJT.

by 2017, the regionals will be so short staffed, the only solution with be consolidation. It is not far-fetched to think that Delta (or United) would buy ASA and merge into Endeavor (or commutair)...if anything, for the excess pilots alone. They know there are ~500 lifers here at ASA, that will never flow into Delta and won't leave...that will help keep ASA afloat flying RJs until they reach 65.

Yes...the magical and elusive MRJ. MRJ, C-series, A350...all great planes, on paper. Until I see some U.S. carriers actually flying passengers around in them, I don't really count those. ....Unicorns and fairies.....

I'm not counting them either. But, SKYW signed an LOI for about a hundred of them. They are merely one variable among many in the equation. SKYW could also sell its options and take the MRJ out of the equation.
