Default ExpressJet jumpseating

I didn't have much luck with a different thread I started, maybe because of the title.

Any advice for a cargo 121 guy jumpseating on ExpressJet from IAH to PXM/HUX? Any advance listing available? Before the merger, I was always successful with CAL from IAH to destinations in Mexico. However, I ran into problems when trying to jumpseat on ExpressJet from IAH to PXM/HUX, more than once. The gate agents blamed it on something that mainline Continental had created in the listing software. Just trying to find out what might/might not be possible before I head that way.

Thanks in advance.

A friend at SkyWest just checked loads for me on several possible dates, and it seems impossible to hope for an open cabin seat from IAH to HUX. So, I won't even try.

But, if anyone answers this thread, it'll be good to know for future reference. Thanks.

Saw your thread earlier, but wasn't sure on the policy on United side of operations. But I will give it a shot.

1. No advance listings for non-employees. Just list at the gate as soon as possible. You can only be bumped by XJT or united mainline guys out of first come order.

2. The only chance you have is cabin jumpseat, since international jumpseat is prohibited if you are not company. Policy might be different though for United side. Someone please chime in if it is.

ExpressJet (E145s) does not allow international jumpseating for pilots of other airlines. Only ExpressJet pilots can jumpseat internationally. The reason being that there is no possible way for a gate agent to add you to the manifest/APIS for customs and immigration. The jumpseat is handled via paper form not computer. The reason ExpressJet pilots can jumpseat internationally is because the company has an internal link for adding company personnel on the manifest/APIS but it is not available to others.

ingleburg5, you finally explained what nobody could in IAH on a couple of different times I tried going through there. I had to go through MEX instead. Good to know this now, instead of after crossing the Atlantic into IAH to find out then.

My airline doesn't have an agreement with any leagacy airline, but we do with the regionals. Is it still possible to non rev with Expressjet (or the other regionals we have aggreements with) even though XJT is operating the flight for UAL? Trying to come back from south of the border.

My guess would be yes. Otherwise that non-rev agreement would seem to be more or less useless as there are very few routes operated by any regionals that are NOT on behalf of a mainline partner.

As I recall during my time at ExpressJet, we had several jumpseat agreements with a number of small operators that were cabin only. Those may have been exclusive to flights operated by ExpressJet even though they were sold by United/Continental. Is that what you are referring to?
