New ExpressJet Interview Process

Anybody have any info on the recent changes to ExpressJet's interview process? I thought I remember seeing a recent thread about how they have recently changed the way they are doing it. (i.e. no more Delta knowledge, Cognitive, or Personality exams) I tried doing a quick search but couldn't find the thread I remember seeing it in.

Any updated info would be great.

Does it really matter at this point? XJT has no future besides continuous stagnation in the right seat. Sure, we'll have captains leaving, but just enough to not have to displace them to the right seat. Our FO attrition will continue to be high, because who would want to be here?

i cancelled my interview with them but i was told it was going to be a short ATP type test and to study whatever ATP gouge i could...no more DL tests...

Yes, it does matter, because I have an upcoming interview with them. and despite your opinions I want to be as prepared and successful as possible.

atp like test 45 questions in 45 minutes.study all atp questions except the performance ,crosscountry and any thing that requires a calculator or an e6b. so focus on aerodynamics, regs, aeromedical, regs ...pretty easy stuff if you have taken your atp written already .use gleim cause shepard will not help you when you call them. after that they will ask you to write an essay. she asked me if i want vors or coffin corner and then gave me why it is the pilots responsibility to show up well rested to work. technical interview with two captains ils into KAVL coming from the west where would you start the approach. remember that you have to do a hold in lieu of a procedure turn except from the point where it says no pt. in the notes it says 1800 rvr approved with auto pilot so remember that. what are your mins if glide slop goes out. if wx goes below mins can you shoot the approach? before faf or after faf etc. center line lights (3000 alternating, last 1000 ft all red)what do you squack if you loose comms? pretty simple stuff. they are parking planes and hoping on new planes some time in the future but do not know when .no class date in sight.let me know if you have more questions

No classes in sight? So did they hire you to a pool for the CRJ?

That is the right attitude to have. I was hired in 2010 under the "classic ASA" interview which was a two day process consisting of one day of HR, technical interview and written test, followed by day two of a sim ride which was BAI, a hold, track to a VOR and a ILS approach. I'm not familiar with the recent and now supposedly defunct "Delta style" process we've been using, but I will tell you to study and be familiar with ATP written questions, the major systems on the aircraft you've most recently flown and be prepared to answer the standard "what if" scenario based questions. In this environment, while we are looking for qualified applicants, if you are a hard working, well prepared and a relatively well spoken pilot with a good attitude you'll get hired. Read up on Willflyforfood.com on the latest gouges and see what they have to say.

Best of luck.

Please don't get me wrong. I'm very curious as to what it is that guys desire and what their expectations are.

I know when I started at the regionals growth was insane and most companies upgrades were at 3.5 years. So there wasn't really much thought put into where you go. Everyone was hiring. Times are much different now. If I were in the same position now I would have definitely chose a different career.

Why Xjt? A dying regional. Old-school culture. Honestly L-ASA has some of the most boring places to fly to. Huge fleet of unwanted airplanes. 4-5 years at least on reserve on the CRJ ATL. A gigantic seniority list. What is it that you know that I don't. Over 7 years in the right seat with no upgrade in sight makes me wonder sometimes.

Just seems like there are so many better choices. Good luck. I think.....

Please, just shut up.

/\This guy, has NO clue what he's talking about. Boring places? ***? I would really like you to elaborate. Who the hell chooses a regional based on "exciting places!"?

ATL CRJ is not 4-5 years on reserve. Seriously, why does this forum not ban people who pull complete and utter BS out of the rears and post it on here?

Guys, please, stop. Really, why does every thread end up going down this road?

I have my reasons for going to interview with XJET, none of them I fell the need to justify with anybody. But please be assured, I have done my research, and am well aware of the current situation there.

That being said, I have heard they have very recently changed their interview profile and I would really like some up-to-date info so I can go in as prepared as possible, and not look like an idiot for not being prepared.

Thanks.
