No MIL, but 2000 hours 747, former regional captain, now a regional captain again, PE, advanced degree, lots of extras.... nothing.
Hopeful with every passing day.

Any updates on whether or not the PE program is effective and working? I heard of a guy that had two and didn’t get a call until 6 months after he started at UPS despite having his app in for years having two 10yr reccs. Are you guys happy with this program as a pilot group? If not, what can be done?

PE isn’t worth the email it was written on...
I don’t have any confidence in the PE. Once every ten years and it essentially means nothing imo.
I have endorsed a top notch candidate with all of the qualifications. A military aviator of the year....tons of Boeing experience. Walked his stuff in to CP office. Absolute crickets.
I am beginning to believe that the single biggest reason for the PE is to get pilots out of the process. Don’t bother us more than once every ten years....and even when you do it won’t make much difference.
I could continue on....I realize it has significance in that every bit helps when you are trying to get in....but it is FAR from a golden ticket that can be used once every ten years.
Just My Opinion

The person I endorsed got an invite 4 months after my probation ended, so I’d like to think it works. He’s the typical 12+ year regional pilot with no extra boxes checked, so who knows what the formula is.

What we really need to find out is: can a PE actually HARM a candidate's chances?
If the company has a defined ratio of PE versus non-PE candidates that they interview, then it is quite possible that a candidate's chances are HARMED by a PE.
I am appalled at this process. We built the largest cargo airline in the world by doing the exact opposite of what we are doing now. We inherited a bunch of attorneys when Northwest got bought (so I hear) and they are helping us recreate the insanely bad employer/employee relations of that former company.

PE board only meets once a quarter, it is not continuous like the general application pile.
If you have given a PE, have you walked into your Fleet Captain's office and discussed why your guy/gal would be a good fit? Are they competitive? Anything missing on their application? Discussed why they did not receive an invite? ETC....
