Is anyone actually bringing a spouse? I can only imagine how enfatuating listening to a bunch of pilots salivate all day will be if she's the only one in the room with no interest in actually working for big purple.

My spouse will be otherwise occupied watching our young kids and dogs back home. But it probably couldn't hurt you if you brought yours along. Might even help them remember you, demonstrates commitment, etc.

Sell it as a second honeymoon!

Ha! We have 12 week old twins, she's just excited to be around adults for a day:)

The point is HR now thinks that all FedEx pilots should have gone to either a service academy or ivy league school. You get higher points depending on where you went to college.

Don't blame us, we don't understand it either.

Actually, service academies and Ivy League schools don't score as high as mainstream state schools like University of Tennessee or UCLA. Similarly, graduating in 3 years is not better than graduating in 4. They want good, but not THAT good.

The objective is to find people who will complete training cycles with the least amount of trouble, and their ideal is a lot like Goldilocks' preferences: not too hot, not too cold, juuuuuust right.

YGTBFKM! Someone who wants to work and support his family lost a seat because you "clicked the wrong box". Fully knowing your wife will have "no interest in actually working for big purple".

And this is why I asked the question. I checked the box, and at the time there wasn't time to think. If you think, you're dead. FedEx put the box there for a reason, and no one lost an interview here.

To be fair, in the end FedEx chose her to come.

Anyone know roughly how many are/will be invited? I think it would be interested to find out that number.

Do you really for a second believe they'd deny slots to PILOTS because too many spouses showed up?

Totally planned on bringing my wife. She's in this as much as I am.

Glad to see I'm not on an island here.

If you haven't gathered I was testing the waters calling it an accident. And the sharks hit just as I expected, but Lebowski makes a very intelligent point.
