Well that was a gigantic waste of time.
They told everyone absolutely nothing that wasn't readily available in this forum.
It was essentially a way for FedEx to convince Air Force and Navy guys to choose them over a legacy.
No points at all for attending.

Nice attitude. I'll bet you wouldn't have the sack to tell them that if you got an interview.

I want the job. But I am just saying what many people who were there were thinking.
You can bash my attitude all you want. FedEx is an incredible company. But going to that event was a waste a time if you thought it was going to improve your chances any.
I didn't need them to tell me what a great place it was to work. I knew that. I need a chance to tell them about me.
And me? I'm the best pilot out there. That's what my mom says.

Do you really know if it won't help your chances? Southwest did theirs last Fall and the majority who attended got an invite in the following weeks. They also said it would do nothing to help your chances, but it obviously did.

Your app/resume should tell a good bit about yourself... the interview is where you let it all out.
I thought the experience was great. They were very informative about the operations, culture, growth and benefits. The employees nice and helpful, and not to mention a great BBQ lunch! The hub tour was a blast too. Now curious to see if they will review the applications of all who attended.

I'm hopeful that it is weighted somewhere behind the scenes. I had a good conversation with the CP in which several important questions were answered. Unfortunately my lack of turbine PIC is disqualifying for the moment, so hopefully upgrades aren't too terribly far at my current employer. Just need all the old guys to retire and/or more growth. For now, I'll keep dreaming!

And yeah, you're right. But was kinda thinking there might be SOME reason to go other than just seeing the place.
