Default Timeline, application to email to interview.

I am curious as to individual experiences from application to email to interview. I'm trying to set up reasonable expectations for my mind. Like many others, to say I want this opportunity doesn't begin to describe it!

Thanks,

-Initial availability was March 2017
-App submitted September 2016
-Changed to immediate availability Jan 1 2017
-Email invite January 8 2017
-Interview February 7 2017

Hope that helps.

Bi-monthly update of app with immediate availability for 1.5 years before interview. However, I had no internal help or mil time.

Yeah, this is going to be almost useless info.

You'll have the regional guy who put his app in 10 years ago and kept updating it who just got the call, and the Atlas 747 Captain who just said "Screw it" and put in an app and got called a month later.

If you want to come here, put your app in now. Keep it updated. When you meet the magic confuser formula you will get a call.

Exactly.

Keep going in a few times a month and updating. Even if you are in the top 10% "group" of competitive applicants, you could still have to wait out the numbers game. Think about it, hire 40 a month. Hypothetically let's say they interview twice that, 80. Hypothetically if there are 8000 applicants on file, and if you're in top 10%, there's 800 other guys who are waiting for call. Simple math, 10 months to get through all of the 800.

Granted this is an over simplified example with numbers that could or could not be accurate (but in the realm of reasonably possible)--you get the idea. Even if you are what the company is looking for it could take a while to get an interview just based on numbers, the same goes for all majors at this point.
