"The MEC authorized the Negotiating Committee to meet with management to introduce the variable benefit concept to management and their actuaries. We fully anticipate that they will need time to digest and consider the plan concept before any consideration of future bargaining. Our discussion with management is scheduled to occur later this month."
Here we go... leg's of its own now! The road to hell is paved with good intentions...! Unanimous?? WOW!
Am I overreacting in my head about this, because I'm not seeing any reaction on the board here...?

I thought ALPA was going to research the different options and then present them to us. Now it seems ALPA has latched on to one 'expert' and is going to present his plan to the company and then us.

As I understand it, they picked one issue to see if they company wants to negotiate. If the company says no nothing to see here. If the company says yes then they will talk to us. I don't like it any better than anyone else but debating with non FDX pilots is pointless. Talk to your rep.
This is about one thing, getting the over 25 crowd additional money. If you got hired after 40, you will be the loser in any changes. I have already said here how I think we should increase the cap.

Wasn’t a contract just sold and signed in 2015? 2 years later, the union wants to approach the company outside of contract negotiation to with retirement options? The union is pretty much given away something most other pilot groups would die for. There should be only one stance when comes to retirement, improving it. Raise the cap, increase the multiplier etc. But no changing it to benefit the company.

They are in the process of throwing the retirement down the drain. FedEx is known for having the best retirement in the industry. Any sort of change to benefit the company is pretty much giving away the retirement

They also gave up a lot in the last contract but that ship has sailed. Let’s focus on the ship that’s still in port. “Retirement”
