Where will they put new hires once the current training letter is complete? There has to be a bid at some point to create new positions unless we think that the company is properly staffed or over staffed in all FO positions.

I heard the same thing from the AOC bus driver. The gist was that Captain bids create openings that FOs can flow into, but that there won't be exclusive FO bids. Ostensibly, this is how it was done at Southwest.

The vast majority of New Hire slots in the latest training letter is Mem A-300 and 757. Some MD-11. A couple HK 767 and CGN 757. Didn't see any 777.
The letter essentially runs out in Sept so a bid should be happening soon.

Unless you are in the 75/76 and then the letter still goes out for about 2 years. So, if we switch to the new "bid for training" system whenever the next bid comes out, what are they going to do with the current 75/76 training letter?

Apparently that's about the same time that FedEx decided to actually talk to the French about what would be required to set up an FDA in Paris...To this day I have never flown in a FedEx 757...

I believe the meeting with management after this bid was cancelled went something like this.......

Off topic, however...
We're doing the same if we trust the Union with their proposal to modify the A-plan....How is it that they are "educating" us when they haven't spoken to the Company regarding this issue?...How is that remotely possible?...Or are they communicating but not letting the crew force know?
Virtually anything proposed in Contract negotiations that are in the Company's best interests are not in the best interests of the pilots...How is that "lie flat instead of first class international seat provision working out?"...It's a slippery slope, and I'm not impressed with the Union's record negotiating...
Where is the rest of my Contract payout two years after the fact? Who is going to receive the interest on that 5%?
Have all of the scheduling modifications stipulated in the Contract "timeline" been implemented?... Would anyone pay thousands of dollars a year (dues) for an agreement with a general contractor who didn't follow through in a similar fashion?
The Union should consider hiring professional negotiators if they want an optimum outcome...
They are playing checkers with those playing chess.
