Towing
 

Anyone ever had to get a tow out of the Democrat lot? Who did you use? Any issues? My Crashpad car is in need of some service.

You have a car kept far away from home and are not a member of AAA?

Former military? My USAA auto policy has towing reimbursement. They'll call a towing company and they will pay them (credit card over the phone?).

You'll probably have to meet the tow truck, get them into the lot and show them where your car is. You'll also need to tell them where you'd like it towed?

I've had cars towed several times (never in MEM) and it was easy.

Had to get my car towed from the Democrat lot 7 or 8 years ago and used D's Towing - (901) 362-0213 to get it to the shop. They were familiar with the process. In short, I had to meet the tow truck driver at the security shack, then someone from corporate security had to escort us back to my car. The person in the guard shack can call security for you. Don't know if the process is the same now - good luck.

Side note: I was commenting to my wife the other day that there are so many abandoned vehicles on the road each day, yet so few tow trucks picking them up. Do people just give up on these cars? Does the state come through each night and clean up the roads like magical elves?

No doubt that some of those cars would cost more in towing fees that the car is worth. There are numerous charities that will tow your car and give you a tax receipt. Why wouldn't everybody do that?

In the state that I live in ...

- The State Police will come by and place a sticker with the date on it on the driver's window.

- If it's still there several days later, the state will tow it. They can find the owner from the VIN number and send them towing and storage fees (and you thought the towing would be expensive). I imagine that they auction them off at some point.
