I know several people in Park City doing the commute. Seems to be a popular choice for folks leaving the CGN domiciles when they return to US.

Depends on the airplane, the manning, time of year, and where you live. We are generally overmanned now so that hurts. But if you live in Memphis there are usually short trips available if you spend all of your time glued to your phone. Some guys drop their whole reserve (and crappy regular) line and manage to fill their schedules. Some lines (including reserve) have extra flying in the next month already built in.

Picking up a trip is usually paid at normal rate. If you get drafted or volunteer for a trip they have a hard time filling 150%. Extended in the field will pay more depending on the extension.

Yes a new hire on reserve can pick up extra flying.

In addition to this, you can only pick up 6 credit hours per month, or if you’re trip trading, you can pick up a trip worth 12hrs more than your trip being dropped.
If you have make up bank then you can pick up as much as you want as long as it’s legal.

Normally pretty easy. There are flights every day of the week, PM flights M-F, AM flights Tuesday-Sunday.

Most MCI guys Senior enough to hold DDH's.

Only occasional Monkey in the system is when FedEx decides to put a sleeper MD11 on the 1+30 MCI trip

Easiest commute: EWR/PHL
Hardest commute: DEN/ORF

Everything else is in the middle.

Does anyone do the commute from BNA that is relatively junior? Just curious how it is? It’s obviously drive-able, but curious about reserve life and junior lines on, say, the 757 or AB.
