Nailed it.

Seriously though... 757 has some longer flights if thats what you want. Or short legs if you want to night hub turn. A little seniority will get you whatever you desire. And with sort delays, I’ve even seen some unscheduled day flying!

Well it’s official- the July Mem767 bid pack stinks more than the turd I took after a weekend in TLC.

Just curious on the trash/treasure subjectivity of your assessment…what were you wanting in there? What was missing?

I always like to hear what guys are looking for, as each of our commuting/family/miscellaneous needs are so varied)

(From an MD guy, who semi-regularly sheds bidpack cities to both the 777 & 767)

As a commuter, I like to see lines with 3-4 blocks max with some solid days off in between. Those lines exist for July, but there are a lot less of them. Mostly all the weekend layovers are gone. There must be 100 or so lines that would either be hellish for a commuter or straight up impossible to commute to. Additionally, there seems to be a lot of day/night flip flopping within the multi-day pairings. The South America, Mexico, and BQN lines are mostly uncommutable. One mans trash is another mans treasure- maybe some pilots like having two on/one off all month long?

I agree with you in the commuting sensibility & day/night flip flops. Those are zero fun.

The 767 MEM bid pack is pure trash. Go look at other bid packs.

ANC bidpacks observation - 77 vs 11

So only 2 bidpacks into ANC77, and the ANC11 bid pack is unrecognizable. Not long intl anymore, just “out n backs” across the international dateline, batting cleanup for the Queen of the fleet, the 777. That sure didn’t take long. I can’t imagine the lack of commutability & fatigue of crossing the date line several times a month...it’s one thing to just rock a single departure line and sleep when able. IMO, this precipitous degradation of the ANC11 bid pack is madness. Not defending the MD; I know she’s turning into the fat girl at the dance, and SHOULD lose intl as we gain 777s...but holy cow, that took only 2 bidpacks with the 777 being ANC based.

What am I missing?

Default ANC77

The ANC 77 Bidpack is also absolute crap. I made a horrible mistake bidding from MEM to ANC. I can't find one line that I'd be willing to do. It is obviously built with MEM scraps.

Well, I can’t argue that MEM is the center of the scheduling universe, certainly seems to be with the MD & 76, even with multiple non-MEM domiciles.

Looks like even the queen triple is susceptible to that thinking. Which wouldn’t make sense to me (lowly & uninformed)…the ANC launch point for the triple makes a whole lot of sense.

But I don’t have any inside info…just an observation from another cog in the Purple machine.
