Default FedEx new airplane order

FedEx is ordering 30 new ATR freighters, with an option for 20 more. Hope I can hold captain on the next bid..

I "think" the ATR series comes from the factory with a cargo door to load passenger luggage? It might be easy to turn into a freighter.

Im sure it will being that its a newly designed 72-600F series. More interesting is this is the larger 72 series vice the 42's which is what we currently have. Maybe the 72 will start taking flying away from the 75

FedEx already owns ATR-72's but its a relatively low amount.

These I am guessing will be distributed to the current feeder operators.

With a capacity for only 7 LD3s, it's not likely to hurt 757 flying. Probably replacing some of those ancient Merlins and Convairs that are still flying for our feeders.
