Yep. Best of both worlds...just like what we currently have. I think the company understands that they are going to have to do this anyway (as the value of the A Plan decreases over time).

“We” have been evaluating ways to improve our A plan...just as The NC and MEC said they would do if the TA passed. Shirley that wasn’t That long ago.

“We” are Not Evaluating ways to improve our A plan and B plan combined retirement package.
(note, our B plan was improved as a result of the TA)

And now "We" have decided to freeze our A Plan and diversify "our" risk.

No one does! This is my issue with the way this whole thing has been handled. So far it’s been a parallel to selling a car like this, “so this is a car, it has four doors, four wheels. We can’t tell you how much it will cost, how fast or slow it will go, what gas mileage it gets, what kind of motor it has or what color it is. What we can tell you is we are going to control the financing and tomorrow we are having a conversation with your parents about you buying it.”

I hate to use the company as a parent metaphor but this is basically how I see this situation. Satire font.

Which ways have We been looking at? As far as I can tell, We have only looked at the VB options. And don't call Us Shirley!

“We” do not exist in a Direct Democracy, but instead elect Representatives.

Our Representatives have said they’ve considered various options over the past 2 years and have settled on this one as the most beneficial.

If YOU, want to participate in evaluating every option and have 100% of the information...there’s an easy solution.
Confident it can be a bit time consuming, and occasionally frustrating.

What say you Albie15 and TonyC

Yes, "we" elect representatives who are supposed to represent the people who elected them.

"We" (at least some of us) are communicating to them that we are not in favor of freezing a plan that still has tremendous value. "We" are much more in favor of keeping it in place and supplementing it in such a way that our total retirement benefit is improved.

Hopefully "we" have all learned throughout our lives that it is never a good idea to put all of your eggs in one basket. The MEC would have our retirement portfolio consist of a VB Plan and our current DC Plan...both of which require the employee to bear the majority of the risk. In the VB Plan, the company only bears "Mortality Risk"...which they already bear in our current A Plan. Everything else is shifted to us.

It sure would be nice if our representatives told us why this was the best option.

OUR elected representatives told us at the beginning of this process that WE would be presented with several options and that polling would be done to see which option WE were most interested in. THEY also mentioned full transparency in this process. I haven't seen either. I guess I'll just have to vote NO!!!!!
