I Blame this POS on the 57% in 2015 who just could not wait a few months or years for a better TA. If that TA was sent back with a demand to fix the A Plan, this VB Plan wouldn’t be in play now.
Thanks again for 10 years on POS

Tell your block reps, loud and clear, that you want no part of this, or it will pass by 51%, and you will hate your union for life.

The worst thing this union ever did to screw us was agency shop. The leadership is not afraid to screw us over, because we have absolutely no recourse.

They did it to us with age 65 and they will do it again with this VB plan if they can get away with it.

It is time to tell the MEC that "we are the union", as they like to point out, and they need to listen to US.

Perhaps it is time to start recalling block reps before this madness continues any longer.
Perhaps it is time to vote ALPA off the property!! After all, what is the point of belonging to a group that forces me to work longer to get the same or similar benefits, and changes the behavior of its membership for the worse? ALPA is a joke! A waste of MY money. What's next? PBS and goodbye to our vacation? Agency Shop is a Moral Hazard that gives our NC and the MEC the opportunity to make reckless decisions with no real consequences. In America, we vote with our pocket books. No such ability under Agency Shop. Down right un-American!!

Take a look at the newhire class photos, then re-evaluate how many of the pilots who will have 0-5 years of service when the contract is being negotiated (and who will get nothing if the A-plan is frozen) are "millenials".

For the last 2+ years, newhires have been predominantly folks in their mid-30s to mid-40s.

Pilots in this block -- people hired in 2015 and later -- are going to make up about 1/3 of the voters on the next contract, and a lot of them are in the "middle" group here.

Aside from a lack of increase in the A plan. The union is so worried about it going away and that’s the second argument on the why of the VB plan. But let’s look at the other airlines. What happened when their A plans went away.... A plan gone, work rules relieved, and wait for it.... pay rates slashed.. So should we ever see the time that our A plan can go, this VB replacement becomes an even bigger turd.

And you want to know why Cherion modeler is propeitary. Cause it is a bunch of made up crap to sell this pig. How much are we paying for their consultation? I bet it ain’t on the cheap and if it is then that is even more disturbing! Lose/lose

The VB plan, being a qualified plan under the PBGC, can go away just as easy as the A plan.

I agree.. But that is part of the Unions argument, that everybody else has lost their A plan. So hurry must fix ours with this new and incredible investment opportunity.. Look.. even the Delta guys are calling us with questions and want this too...

Delta doesn’t have an A Plan so a VB Plan would be an improvement to their overall retirement.

Correct and that why they are interested but the Union is trying to use that as an example on “what a good deal this must be”.

ALPA isn't the problem necessarily. There are issues there no doubt.

It is those pushing bad agendas. Look at voter turn out, pretty pathetic. Maybe guys should take more of interest in Elections.

I'm ok with Agency Shop. I have a real problem with guys getting a free-ride, i.e., Non-Members who don't pay their fair share yet benefit from the contract. Some of them are SCABs, others SCABS in waiting who never had a chance to SCAB. I flew with one legendary member who has since retired. His answer for being a Non-Member was that he didn't like Conflict. I'm not interested in giving a chance of a free ride to anyone else.

I'm not interested in re-visiting Federal Express Union drama either. Non-Union, ALPA I, FPA, ALPA II, and give a try to FPA II. You'll have the same cast of characters. Get the rid of the Union Entirely and be non-union again, no thanks. The day we do that I'll start sending apps out and give up 13 years Seniority.

Guys need to write their reps and frankly, if recalls need to happen, then so be it. Guys complain about the Contract yet the same cast of characters remain.

Write your Reps.

During one the FOCUS meetings, the Union claimed that AA, DAL and UAL all want it/will have it in their openers.

Go over to the Delta side of APC and they have no desire for the VB.

I've got friends at all the previous mentioned. I'm curious what the mood really is regarding them.
