Bid is out. And this little tidbit...

Sep'18 GSO Hub potential opening

I thought they were moving to smaller, more frequent bids? I guess not, the next bid is scheduled for spring 2019. Guess that battle is loss too.

I imagine it would be a Hub like AFW. Crew base would be great though.

Someone on jetflyers said P9 = 9th Pacific Frequency...but i'm not sure.

Ohh ... I thought we were buying some P-9 LRAACA to serve some coastal cities

P-9 LRAACA [Long-Range Air ASW Capable Aircraft]
The P-9 was a modified civilian MD-91 proposed in 1988 for the Long-Range Air Anti-Submarine Warfare Capable Aircraft (LRAACA) competition for the next generation maritime patrol aircraft.

Interesting FCIF, while there is a table with min/max staffing levels in each seat there is no seat specific vacancy numbers, just totals. Also I do not ever recall seeing disclaimers before as if something significant will happen in the next few weeks:

"Although we strive to provide as much information is possible, this information is subject to change as the bid and numbers unfold. Please consider your choices carefully and as I always stress, bid what you want to fly!"

So if we’re really only netting an additional 8 airframes over the next 3 years, why are we still hiring 450 a year? There has to be more to come I’d guess

This doesn't really say what the bid is? Is this really a bid or a precursor for an actual bid coming out later. Never seen an FCIF for a bid that looked like this. Maybe they just forgot to include the table with the actual numbers

The numbers are there, the format is different than what we’re used to. Look at MEM 67Cap for example. There are 311 people currently awarded that seat, and they want a minimum of 412 with a maximum of 412 as well. That’s the new way of saying they’re posting 101 new vacancies in that seat. If any of the current 311 pilots in the seat bid out it would increase the vacancies in the seat further. For seats like the MD and Bus, since the numbers are equal, no vacancies will be created unless people bid out. This also means that no one will be forced out of their current seat via excess which was a concern for some earlier.
