Correct . . . feeders will more than likely have to come up with further pay and QOL-friendly schedule improvements to complement this new carrot though.

Except that a guaranteed interview is worthless.

Which will raise costs to the feeder. There is a breaking point somewhere.

And 3.5-4 years is a long time to have to fly an atr when someone can be a regional jet captain in 18 months these days. Who's to say this program will even be around then? I'm sure retirements will continue to grow but thats all the more reason that they'll take people off the street for "mainline" Fedex. Empire and MAC arent big airlines and probably wont dominate new hire classes regardless of having the program.

As long as those costs are offset by the profits they make in maintaining the airplanes, there is no breaking point.

Yeah, I’ll buy that for sure. Only reason a place like MAC would ever be more appealing than the jet regionals is the MEM base. Although from what I’ve read, getting the base you want at MAC is virtually impossible (maybe not, just what I’ve gathered from some very quick investigation). I’d really prefer to be at a more traditional jet regional anyway, just wish we had one at MEM.

So their graphic looks like they will take people on the Caravan at 250. Anyone know how this will be possible? The way I understand it is they operate single pilot.

MAC recently instituted home basing as long as you live anywhere in the central or eastern time one.
