Holy crap! Is this what we have come to? Cross posted from the general Cargo thread.
“Hi Fellas,
Just a quick question to anyone who might be in the know. I want to jumpseat to Asia, specifically Hong Kong, with a small dog. My company doesnt allow this. Do you guys have any policy against such practice? Assuming all paperwork and requirements are met to import a pet to said country.
A few passenger airilnes do allow them in the cabin but my little guy is just 1 inch too tall and will not fit under the seat per the airline's criteria. Not sure if they'll be sticklers over this but looking around for Plan B just in case.
Thanks!“

The company issues scooby snacks on all flights so I'm sure we could accommodate your emotional support pooch.

For the record, my Aussie is smart enough to handle the 767 at cruise. I would worry about him on an RNAV approach, and I think a V1 cut is beyond his capability. However, I think he'd be a find RFO on some legs across the South China Sea at night. I do think the trips would be a lot more fun if he went along...

Actually, most folks get along pretty well. FX is 5,000 pilots spread over 4 bases worldwide. So you get to know your co-workers. But...there's always that 3% that don't get the word. We have those too. No offense, but stories of guys bringing their Mothers to their interview, FO's leaving their seat to do yoga over the Pacific with nary a word, or dudes with 20 minutes on property trying to hook up Go-Pros in a 121 cockpit may be cause for conversation. Or humor. You know, that is still a thing. To some.

My guess is you never got the job offer. But we'll call it a mutual breakup if it makes you feel better.
