If you're serious, then I have to say.... "who gives a rat's ass". If it's another attempt at humor, it's really not as funny as you seem to think it is. Considering what others choose to do on SE Asian layovers, to each his own.

I thought this thread was a mistake from the start and kind of told myself I wasn't going to contribute. If it wasn't for everyone's favorite snowflake, I probably would still be sticking to that plan.

The occasional misfire on a crew hitting it off isn't a new problem. There's always been issues from the 5% regardless of what seat they occupy and I've heard far worse stories from as long as FedEx has been operating. From the list of events you've provided, if they're not embellished BS, most appear to be minor, solvable issues hardly worthy of airing on a public forum.

May I suggest you cease and desist. I see little benefit in continuing to do what you're doing here.

Sorry.....I should have knocked before I opened the door.

I was looking for the "FEDEX or UPS" thread...and stumbled into this orgy by accident. Carry on.

Maybe then will young FO’s start to feel welcome at the company they’ve spent their whole life trying to get hired at.

Oh, and stop calling it at “jet.” It’s OK to go with the release just on the iPad, you don’t need all that paper anyway. Lay off the popcorn, those simple carbs are bad for you. Fox News is fake news and not everyone cares about your guns and Sean Hannity infatuation.

:D:p

Last I looked it is a Jet! unless of course it identifies with another type of transport.

The fact that we are even having this discussion is a shame. How about this:

Captains: Don't be a jerk. Treat ALL FOs you fly with as seasoned professional pilots (which the majority of them are). Remember, we have all be Captains at some point. Treat others the way you would like to be treated.

FOs: Don't be a jerk. Treat the Captains you fly with as seasoned professional pilots (which the majority of them are). Remember that the Captain is the boss. Don't sweat the small stuff. Remember back at your previous job when you were a Captain...did you want your FO constantly complaining or challenging you on everything? Unless it is safety of flight related or dictated by procedure, why get spun up over a personal preference or technique that you don't like?

Seriously guys, this is not that difficult. It is not about age, background, or experience. It is about assigned roles and mutual respect.

If you are a Captain, be the Captain that you always wanted to fly with when you were a FO.

If you are a FO, be the FO that you always want to fly with when you are the Captain.

Not rocket science!

Hopefully you read my post right above this one. I meant every word of it. Respect flows both ways. We have Captains who need to do better and we have FOs who need to do better.

That said, if you are worried about things like whether or not the Captain wants a printed copy of the release or not, you need to get a life.

I think you completely misunderstood my post, I hope. Upon further review, I can maybe see why.

To set the record: I completely disagree with the OP and, like others here, believe the OP has 1) displayed insecurities and lack of leadership, 2) made a worthless posting with no clear point (or poll as suggested) other than to create divisiveness amongst the crew force, and 3) made an ass out of himself/herself while hiding behind the autonomy found in the forum. I dare him to post this and expose his true character in jetflyers.

Personally, millennial or not, I don’t give a rats ass as long as you are standard, use effective communication, and do a good job. If a hiccup happens, I would hope the captain would have the charisma, leadership, and moral fortitude to correct the issue face-to-face while maintaining a positive and open relationship with their FO instead of running to a public forum to air out the perceived dirty laundry and making everyone look bad. This rhetoric and divisiveness is unnecessary and should be rejected in our workplace.

Hopefully that clears it up.

Yes I'm stirring the pot.

Seriously, just be professional and we'll all get along just fine.
