I have declined a trip on SUB and lost the bank for the trip I was subbed on. Called contract enforcement and they quoted me this.

The Company shall establish a deviation bank for each pilot for each bid period.

i. The value of a given bid period’s deviation bank shall be equal to the value of:

They said that since I refused the trip, it was like I was dropping the trip, so no bank. Maybe it's because I qualified for a lie flat seat. I've heard others that had different experiences. Hopefully, you get to keep the bank.
I actually agree with you. I just think that it's funny the we often get the dynamic of two people adamantly answering two opposing answers. Cracks me up...
