Carry Over Trip Conflict?

Will a one day carry over trip knock out a complete block of R days in the first few days of the subsequent bid month or just the R day in conflict?

Thanks

Depends on aircraft and domicile I believe. Unless everyone is now under the 2015 rules.

New Secondary system is live system wide,

Does anybody know then if this portion of the contract has been implemented?

Section 25.F.6.a:

"In the event of a phase-in conflict with an R-day(s) in the new bid period:
If other than a vacation conflict, the block containing that R-day(s) in the new bid period shall be dropped and the pilot shall be eligible to make-up an R-day value(s), as provided in Section 25.E.4., L.1., and L.6."

That looks to me like a one day carry in trip would knock out an entire block of R days that started on the first day of the bid month.

Has anybody been able to verify with personal experience that this will occur?

Thanks

Not personal experience, but it should be implemented in all seats starting now.

That’s the way it’s supposed to work. The CBA language is pretty unambiguous, so I think it’s safe to say that’s what will happen. But, I have no personal experience.

One other issue I noticed with the new secondary system. If someone is interested in trying to reduce or increase their vacation hours on their secondary line, the vacation must start in the bid month being scheduled. Same with the option to adjust the vacation footprint. In other words, if you slid a June vacation into July and now want to use that provision, you cannot. Just a heads up.

Someone else can back me up, but I don’t see that specific restriction in the CBA or LOA (although I won’t call my search “exhaustive”). Must have been decided during the colllaborative meetings held over the last 2-1/2 years leading up to implementation. Or, that’s just the way the company decided to interpret that when they put out the latest FCIF. Either way, it would be nice to have that spelled out in something that lasts longer than an FCIF.

Thanks for the replies. I will let you know what happens after the bid closes.

Well I wish I could report some results but I wasn't able to hold the line in question so I don't know for sure what would have happened.

Anybody with direct experience who could share the details would be appreciated.

Thanks again.

It knocked out the whole block with one day conflicted.
