Default Preferred PIC Time?

Although FedEx states "1000 hours total fixed-wing pilot-in-command" as "preferred", has anyone been invited to interview with less than 1000? I am sitting at 875 TPIC (mil) and am curious whether there is any chance they would call until reaching 1000.

Also the USAF doesn't track PIC time, and my PIC calculation is very conservative. Not sure if I am shortchanging myself when viewing other posts regarding liberally calculating PIC time in the USAF.

Thanks for any insights!

They would allow you to add.2 per sortie so if flying tactical jets can add quite a bit. Not sure if they still allow this.

This question was asked during the Career Expo and the head of Pilot Recruitment (CS) indicated that they do not find it necessary at this time to hire anyone without 1,000 TPIC.

That 1000 pic also has to be in an aircraft that is > 12,500lbs.
T-37, T-38, T-6 no good... T-38C I believe meets the requirement though (for the USAF folks)

It has to be in an aircraft 12,500 or greater. Which is good news for any KA200 drivers out there.

Hasn’t it also been posted before that if a variant met the 12,500 threshold then the type met it for application purposes?

The pilotcredentials website will total it automatically based on the type you selected. I think the best way to know for sure would be to plug all your time in and see how it classified it.

Most of my 1300+ TPIC is T-38...and this has me slightly nervous. T-38 is over 12,500 and shows up that way when pilot-credentials auto-gonks hours under the "MGTOW 12.5 to 40K lbs" category. Did you hear that Fedex doesn't consider T-38 time or were you just unsure of the weight class? Just trying to clarify. Thanks!
