Because retirement in this system is based on W2, many will likely ***** themselves out to fly as much as possible, thus reducing the number of pilots that FedEx has to hire.
And under the same “fly as much as possible” assumption, negate any leverage the NC could have or need during future contract negotiations. Fly your line and that’s it? Not a chance with this group if you add the VBP to the mix.
Yet another way this will bite the union in the @$$.
I was trying to find the "HELL NO!!!!" answer so I could continually click on it!

Is there any truth to the rumor that our MEC officers are collecting large sums of incentive pay for promoting this retirement plan?

Yes, and if you read about their pay, they are paid handsomely, indeed.

Seagulls, anyone?

Incendiary? I’m not accusing anyone of a crime. I’m asking about incentive pay, not kickbacks or bribary. sheesh.

Collecting it from whom? And in this case, how would "incentive pay" differ from kickbacks or bribary(sic)?

ok. You got me on the misspelling of bribery. nice work. Now look up the definition of incentive pay, which is very common in the corporate world? As to who would be paying, I don’t know. Do our MEC officers get any incentive pay? At all? Ever, for this or anything else? That’s what I’m wondering. Do you know?

Incentive pay is for improved performance in one's job, and comes from the same source as one's regular pay. A union official accepting incentive pay from anyone other than the membership has severe ethical problems. In this case, "incentive pay" from the company offering the plan would be a kickback. "Incentive pay" from FedEx would be bribery.

Just more D3 (and the associated JF crowd) paranoia.
