FedEx commute from the Gulf Coast

Looking for some info on how it would be to commute from the Pensacola (PNS) area to Memphis? Are there any FedEx flights? What about Mobile, Ft Walton, Panama City?

Most of us commute out of mobile. There’s nothing in the penny/destin area. It’s “kind of” 7 days a week.
Jumpseat schedule

MEM - BFM
T-Sat 0324-0430
T-F 1600-1715
Sunday 1600-1710 (sometimes 757)

BFM - MEM
T-Sat 0900-1018
M-Fri 2115-2245 (Mon is sometimes 757)

There are a lot of us on the coast, but (knock on wood) very few issues with the commute.

Not to take away from the direct subject, but along the same lines. Thought about posting something last time the commute subject came up with the discussion of the Memphis Airport and the loss of the Northwest/Delta Hub. Having the Hub was great, sure do miss it.

I’m a commuter, getting tired of it and have always thought about moving to the Memphis area, still do, but thinking about splitting the difference and doing the drive commute. So looking at all possibilities.

Have always pondered Oxford, MS. Anyone living down there? How is the town? I know a college town but is it livebale for someone 20 years out of college. Seems like a nice place. Is sitting “B” Reserve doable?

Thanks!

I think it is kind of expensive these days... it has sort of become trendy and fashionable from my understanding.

If you're a single guy, the place is filled with college girls. :D

Yeah, thanks. I've heard it has grown and is a bit pricier, but pricier is relative/debatable. I do know they are spinning it as a retirement area in someways, have heard others in the Memphis area have moved down there and do the drive commute daily.

How is the commute from the Gulf Coast these days? Mainline is cutting service to small markets.

Southern Airways Express does MEM-Destin. Allegiant has a flight from MEM to the gulf too on some days.

if you’re a current FX pilot, check the Pilot Dashboard…you can see how many pilots live in the area you’re looking at commuting…you can customize mileage from the airport as well
