Default Boating lake in mem area

Any Memphis guys use any lakes nearby for water sports? We are thinking about making the move, and I would love to have a ski boat. Curious if anyone knows of good lakes for that type of thing.

Nothing real close unfortunately. I ended up selling my boat.

Closest is probably horshoe lake in Arkansas. Not a place you could live full time on. Pickwick is 90 minutes. Greer ferry Heber spring round three hours. The big lakes you see in MS on final to the 36s are reservoirs and you can't live on them. There is a place called candle wood between mem and pickwick that has a ski lake, but it's pretty small and not much around it.

One or the other. Ski boat = commute. Which is the priority?

There is a ski "park" in Collierville on Holmes. Not sure what you have to do to ski there.

Totally agree. Neither is suitable for skiing. If you live in Collierville, you can make Pickwick lake in 85 minutes. Keep your boat in one of Aqua Yacht's boat condos for about $250 a month. Call ahead and your boat will be waiting for you in the water when you arrive. Drop off the keys when you're finished then hit the road. Much easier on the marriage than trying to trailer.
