FXCal

I am new to FXCal and every time I manually “get open time” I get a message that the “network connection was lost”. However, it does get the open time. Any idea why this message keeps popping up? I have tried numerous different networks. Thanks

It is a server issue on the FXCal side - just close it - everything still works

I believe the message is related to FXCal checking Kurt’s website for the FXCal posted trip information. It’s not from the frontside network connection from your device.

Godaddy hosts the server for fxpilot.info. (FxCal)
They keep changing security settings, and sometimes when lots of folks are checking open time, they shut some requests off.
A long term project for me has been to replace this server.

FxCal checks the server during two operations:

When you login to FedEx, it tries to update any subscription changes.
So no operational issue here [ just don't let your subscription expire :) ]

When you check open time, it also checks the swap bulletin board.
Again, not an operational issue, just a nuisance. You can avoid this nuisance during AutoPoll under Open Time > Options > Get Posted Trips.

Thanks for your patience.

Thanks guys. Great app. I have it on my IPhone. Any way to also put it on my personal IPad under the subscription I purchased?

FxCal is like all iOS programs, it is part of your iTunes library.
All devices with the same Apple ID for 'iTunes and App Store' can install it.
I choose to put that same ID on the company iPad, so I have access to all apps, songs, vids, etc, without repurchase.
I DO, however, use a different Apple ID for the iCould portion, as I choose to not put ANY personal message, email, calendar info on the company iPad.

FxCal subscription goes with your employee number.

So YES, you can install on multiple devices.

As a side note, even if you have a different Apple ID for your company iPad vs. personal devices, you can still download the apps you've purchased from your personal account onto your company iPad while maintaining the separate Apple IDs. There's no need to repurchase them.

On your company iPad, go to settings and sign out of your Apple ID account. Then sign back in with your personal account info. Go to the app store, and download the app you already purchased on that account. Then reverse the process to put your company Apple ID back where it belongs.

I used to do this all the time at my previous job to get apps purchased by my company onto my personal devices to test before approving it for operational use (I knew the company's Apple ID details since I managed the EFB program).

When it comes time to update that app to a newer version, the app store will prompt you for the Apple ID password for the account you purchased it with (your personal account). You don't need to sign out and back in as described above to update the apps, even if you're currently signed in with a different Apple ID.

Any chance FX Cal or Bidx will make an Android app?
