PFC Preferences
In the past, when I have clicked on a trip on my calendar or in open time it has always opened in the “Recap Format” with “Include Services” selected. Now it always defaults to the “Summary Format” and no services. Why did it change and is there a preference input somewhere where I can choose the default format for displaying the information? Thanks

Part of the new simplified display policy. Every byte counts and to be a more efficient airline we need to limit the words you see. This will make us more competitive. The standard is now the summary format. You can see the expanded format if you want to but you'd need to consult the display matrix. The word display matrix takes many things into account (have you done this trip before, are there any international deadheads, how many people before you have needed the summary format for this trip etc.) Bottom line is if you need the words then expand it. We aren't trying to give you less words just the right amount of words. Every byte, every pixel counts.

One possible explanation is that you clicked on summary for a trip and never clicked back on recap. All your trips will show up as summary until you do.

The trips show in the last format that you used. |
I like the "every byte counts" explanation better.

It usually defaults to the last time you pulled one. FxCal can force a format. If you see in the URL y?n?y at the end? Those are things like local/zulu, recap/summary, services, etc BTW- FxCal pulls a couple different versions depending on where you are in the program. And the next time you look at a recap from a browser, the default may have changed from the last time you used a regular browser. |
I'm pretty sure it has to do with "insufficient bytes available".

URL y?n?y BTW, I don’t know where I am in “the browser.” I do know that I’m on the magenta line and if I use 107 keystrokes in an Airbus FMS I also know my closest divert is BIL, which after cross referencing my company iPad (and another 69 keystrokes) I realize is Billing Montana. Now you and I realize if the weather is CAVOK in Billings and 1801RVR at AWE (anywhere else) AWE becomes the new primary alternate. Wait, what were we talking about? |
