Advice...FedEx goal

I'm a pilot who is currently flying part 91/135 night cargo and my end goal is to come to FedEx. I worked for FedEx Express for 10 years but recently left last winter to pursue my career in flying. I'm nearing my 1500 hrs and have job offers in regionals. My question is should I try and go to Mountain Air Cargo because of the new pathway program and would it just make sense to go to regionals? QOL and Pay matters because I have a family. My current job allows me to be home everyday with good pay but I'm not getting any jet experience thats over 12500, just light jet experience and tons of single engine turbine. My end goal is to come back to FedEx and hopefully it helps that I was with the company for 10 years and obviously had to leave to get my flight time. Any advice or help is appreciated.

If you’re not sold on the MAC pathway program, it may be worth researching Kalitta Air if you’re looking to add some heavy jet time to your resume. For some (not all), K4 can be very positive in terms of both comp and QOL for junior F/Os. Home basing is a nice aspect of how they do things too. Regional flying schedules can make it tough to balance work/family. Long haul freight is not for everyone though.

would they hire a 1500 hour pilot without ATP?

No, you're going to need 4k tt and some tpic if you want to come here.

I would look at the Purple Runway Program (Empire or MAC).

Did you read the Empire and Mountain Air threads below?

The number they keep telling me when I bug my friends in Memphis is 2000 PIC in a 121 Jet and an LCA letter to be competitive right now. Go wherever you can get that quickest.

Go to the Regional with the quickest Upgrade, get your 1,000 TPIC and then apply and update weekly.

Thanks for all the replies! Does it help that I worked for company for 10 years?

I think it has some positive impact, but it’s not an overwhelming factor like one would think. I too worked at FedEx prior to becoming a Pilot here and you’ll see a handful of folks spread out throughout the Seniority List with oddball employee numbers from years past.

It won’t have them pulling your app early or anything. Had mine in for 7 years. But it will give you some talking points in the Interview. You may possibly be able to acquire a few LOR’s or name drop. Depending on which capacity you worked here.

Best of Luck!
