AA’s early wake ups on wide bodies is overseas. 0600-1100 local is much earlier when converted to body time. Except for 3 flights it’s all three or four man flying and one leg per duty period. .
MainlineAF - don’t start rumors of 2+ leg trips. At this point we don’t have the brain power for that much flying!! ;-) Three day trip = 2 legs. Six day = 4 legs.

I consider night flying anything after midnight lol I would figure that 9 pm to 7 am is brutal, at least for me, anyways. I know transcon is different, I’m mainly referring to hub turns and LAX to EWR type stuff. You work less than a RJ crew does, but those hours are brutal. Opinions?

No rumors from me. I was saying in my last post that the majority of widebody trips are one leg out, one leg back.

AM Hub turns, it depends. Some senior people like them and do them often, others hate them. I will do one every now and then if it's convenient, or to fill a gap. Don't like to be in Memphis not getting paid. I'll do one if there's a nice deadhead at the end of it, or if I have one leg to a 60 hr weekend layover. It's not too painful to do a 1+15 leg into Memphis, get a couple of hours of sleep, and then do another short leg, however I would not be interested in doing that all week. And if I have a six day pairing, I don't mind if a few of the legs are at night, it's worth it for a good trip.
On the other hand, day flying can be pretty fatiguing if you have to get up early. If I'm setting the alarm for 3am my body clock time.....and have a tough time going to bed early, sure, call it day flying, but it is painful. Really the best thing is if you can have nice long layovers to recover from your day or night flying. Very little is easy when you start getting old.

It was a big 3 pax airline. But, side note... I was never held a line there. Always a commuter to reserve. So, take it with a grain of salt.

And red eyes right? Explain to me how a red eye is any different from a typical FDX hubturn on a widebody, 1 leg in one leg out. I guess if you’re going international you’ll get a min 24 hour layover, but other than that and catering...I’m failing to see a difference.

What type of rest to the PAX airlines give after a west to east cost red eye? Is it generally 10hours min rest and then back at it with some afternoon flying or do they try and keep you on the same cadence?

If one really looks at it, there really isn't much pay differential between a series of individual hub turn trips strung together all week and a single week long DH pairing hub turning from an out station. If the overall footprint of both options match, the pay is about the same.
So, other than a couple of hours between trips off the per diem clock, the end result in CH is very similar.
