Yes they do, they don’t have that makeup BS for sure. And once they bid an aircraft they also bid for training and must start within a certain time frame “3mths, 6mths etc” and if they are not in class by that date, they start getting paid for that seat which they were awarded.

Explain to the rest of us short bus kids how PBS allows conflict bidding?

PBS doesn't allow or disallow conflict bidding, PBS is a computer progran and is only what you code it to be. If a PBS carrier negotiated trips touching vacation, you would simply have the administrator code that into PBS. Likely it would simply mask vacation until the individuals schedule was built, then umasked and drop any trip that touched. It wouldn't be that hard at all. Now negotiating that when it's already been given up, that's another story.

Default FedEx "not for everyone"?

So...which of the three legacy pax carriers has conflict bidding again?

Which other major pax carriers have it? I *think* SWA does, not sure about any others.

Makes you no different than any of us at Purple (or brown). You’ll learn how to manage your sleep and you’ll discover what types of pairings work for you and which don’t.

Alaska

Spirit just gave it up in their latest CBA and is awaiting PBS implementation.

It amazes me how some of these guys are quick to boast the great things about FedEx, but the justify and/or make excuses for the things which are lacking in its contract.
We all agree FedEX is one if not the best company to work for out there, however some of you act like all is perfect and there are nothing which needs improvement. Attitude like that cause you to lose bit by bit every contract negotiation.

I don't work for FedEx. I don't think most believe FedEx is perfect, hence the title of this thread and the reiteration that FedEx "isn't for everyone".

I do, however, expect somebody who says "but at most Major if you conflict training with a trip, you get paid for you trip" to state which majors actually allow conflicting training with a trip.

Facts being stubborn things and all that allows reality to rise above emotion...well, in theory anyway...

BoilerUP Johnson is right. None of the big 3 have trips touching. That of course has NOTHING to do with PBS. You could have trips touching with PBS, there are plenty of other efficiencies that PBS provides.

You can still have to phased of bidding. First phase, you get a line awarded, including any training, if applicable. Then vacation is applied and any conflicting trips get dropped. Phase two (secondary/VTO) bid on the trips that were dropped due to conflict in the first phase and reserve days.
