Ava fcif...dec 18
Can anyone explain the latest fcif that came out today? I was under the impression that regardless of reserve level availability between nov 22 and December 31st. The last sentance of the fcif seems to contest that

Section 25.N.4.a. (p. 347) provides that “AVA shall be available and assigned to all eligible pilots beginning 7 days prior to showtime for that assignment, based on the reserve forecast.”
a. The parties agree that during the period referenced in Paragraph 1.a. above, all AVA
submissions shall be deemed to be within the acceptable limits of the reserve forecast model
(and thereby approved); and
b. During other times of the year (subject to 1.b. & c.), AVA submissions for Base Hotel Standbys
(BHS-RS or otherwise) shall be deemed to be within the acceptable limits of the reserve forecast
model (and thereby approved).

I think that FCIF was more or less automatic based on vacation buy backs. The company would rather that we forgot about the grievance settlement.

So, in simple man's terms:
If you're looking to put in for trip specific make-up in the next 7 days, put it in as AVA (through the end of Dec). Putting in for Gen M/U just means you get the same trip for 50% less pay.
