Also, I was able to glance at the A300 July bidpack, and noticed lots of trips with DDH's and long IND layovers. Does anyone know how senior these trips go? I'm not starting class for another couple months, but I am trying to figure out what would provide the best QOL (time home), and a rough ball park expectation on how long it will take to get there. Months, years, decades? The A300 IND layovers look pretty enticing as I could drive home and spend the day with fam, sleep in my own bed, then drive back to IND. Any other airframes have schedules like this? I know the likelihood on an Airbus out of training is slim for me (SSN starts with 0).

I appreciate the help and can't wait to get started!
No seat lock and quick seniority on the 75. Could probably hold DH trips fairly quickly and then bid to whatever plane/base works best for you come the next system bid. If there are 76 IND vacancies on the next bid (which I imagine there will be), it would be a short/quick Differences training cycle.

I appreciate all the insight. From the information I've gathered here, IND is mostly all middle of the night hub turns which does not sound appealing to me at all. I would much rather make the commute to MEM for the 76 or 75 for the more diverse flying. I know a lot of people only fly on company metal when commuting, but it looks like most flights heading into MEM are early in the morning, or late at night. Do those arrival times work out pretty good for most of the departures out of MEM, or do most people spend several hours or even a whole day in a crash pad waiting for their trip just to avoid a RJ trip into MEM?

If I’m junpseating into MEM for day flying, my FDX jumpseat generally gets in at 830-9am MEM time and the first flights check in time is usually 13:30 to 15:00. I get a room and go running, workout, shower, and have lunch. We do have a gym but it’s been closed since Covid and no idea when it will return.

For night flying the JS usually gets in around 23:30 to 00:30 Mem time and the first flight has a show time about 02:00 to 03:00. I grab a room and sleep.

I’m on the bus and I have done a lot of IND day stuff the last few months and have been here over 5 years. The IND layover night flying on the bus goes more junior.

Respectfully, most of the flying at FedEx is going to be nights -- even if Memphis based (unless you're on the 777) -- especially for a new hire.

Are the MD11 guys still hand-selected apart from the larger group or did the last few folks just get ANC 11 based on SSN?

Appears that every award was based on seniority only.

Thank you. I have a low SSN so I would expect bottom 10. Assuming I got a phone call and a successful interview…
