Out of curiosity, does anything prevent management from hiring a non-pilot, training him/her, paying to get him to earn the required “minimums, and then putting him in indoc?
Anyway, seems like something to improve on the next contract if it’s something that pilots want to change.

Hmm! According to the MEC chairman, the company told the union that they were giving him a seniority number and that there was nothing the the MEC could do about it. When asked if he would be required to pay union dues since he was now on the seniority list, the answer was "I hope so, but I'm not sure."

Well, I few people on this thread blew up this issue. But that’s why I qualified my statement with if it’s something we want to change.
