I’ve done the deadhead-out twice in civvies. No KCM there and I have not tried going thru crew line in uniform. The lines move quickly though and are fairly standard for international/Europe. Global Entry helps since you will clear US customs there at YUL, but the kiosks are easy and fast too.
Also, the only lounge in the transborder area is the Air Canada Lounge; hopefully you have Star Alliance Gold Status.

The time from the hotel to the airport can very greatly and a few crews have missed their flights leaving at the scheduled departure time. Check with the driver as to what time you should leave.
In the past, I have been told I couldn’t use the crew line unless operating, whether in uniform or not. There is a special security line for Global Entry and Nexus, but it’s often not any faster than the regular line. As mentioned, you go through US immigration at YUL, so give yourself a little extra time. Global Entry or Nexus will help, but again, usually not by much.
