Default HKG LEC meets to discuss Article VIII

Anyone hear about the outcome of the HKG LEC meeting? Ref the Article 8 Letter signed by the MEC below:

“February 15, 2019
Ladies and Gentlemen of Council 14:
It has come to your MEC's attention that there is an effort to bring charges against two FDX ALPA Scheduling Committee Members under Article VIII of the ALPA Constitution and By-Laws.
We respectfully ask that you please consider the following. Your entire MEC is aware of all of the facts at hand, having spent multiple meetings, untold man-hours (equating to tens of thousands of YOUR union-dues-dollars) carefully examining every aspect of this issue. Your MEC representatives and officers heard every salacious detail, carefully avoided making it a public issue, and UPHELD the decisions that both Captains Dyer and Cardaci determined to be in the best interest of all FDX pilots.
It cannot be over-emphasized that EVERY aspect of this case was visited ad nauseam. In the end, the decision was made which we believe serves the best interests of ALL our pilots, including the HKG domicile.
Should Article VIII charges be brought and ultimately be upheld, we believe it would significantly set back your Scheduling Committee's efforts. In addition to publicly available information, your MEC is also aware of sensitive Scheduling Committee information that is confidential, per the CBA. We can tell you that your SIG has made good progress on fixing substantial quality-of-life issues.
Even if the contemplated charges are not ultimately upheld, the process will expend untold tens of thousands of your union's dues dollars and old wounds will have been needlessly opened for the end result of having accomplished nothing other than to create distractions from vital union business while exacerbating divisions within our union's ranks – distractions and divisions which the company will gladly exploit.
Whether in terms of monthly issues such as our bidpacks or in long term Section-6 negotiation planning, this sort of internal turmoil emboldens the company on the premise that we are too busy fighting with each other to effectively focus on them. Let there be no doubt; when management sees us divided and fighting amongst ourselves, they are toasting and lighting cigars bought with bonus money extracted from the wounds of our disunity.
Now is the time to put differences aside and work together.
Thank you for your thoughtful and careful consideration of this important matter.
In unity,”

If the union spent untold tens of thousands of dollars investigating this I sure as hell want to know at least general facts on what went on!

Default Answer to the OP

The outcome of the LEC 14 meeting was a vote unanimously in favor of charges under Article 8 against two members of the FDX ALPA SIG.

There were 2 letters sent to the HKG base LEC 14 prior their special meeting. One from the FDX MEC Chairman (dated 14 Feb 2019) and one from the entire FDX MEC (dated 15 Feb 2019). These are available to read if you have access to the FDX ALPA website. If you can't find them, maybe you can ask your ALPA representatives for them.

These letters provide an insight to your MEC. Please read carefully and do your best to understand their intent. Again... PLEASE read them carefully.

These letters did not convince the members of FDX LEC 14 to disregard the facts presented to them during special meeting on 16 Feb 2019. When ALPA National investigates the FDX LEC 14 article 8 charges, we can be assured that we have an open and transparent union because they will notify and communicate with us in accordance with ALPA bylaws.

The series of events that led to the article 8 charges highlight the standards to which all of our ALPA representatives are held to. Honesty and integrity are characteristics we all should demand from ALPA. Leadership is additionally what we demand from our FDX MEC Chairman. These inherent traits are what we expect, and what we pay for. Excuses for lack of accountability are a hollow cry and designed to redirect attention elsewhere. A strong union is based on integrity and accountability. There is no doubt about it.

Disclaimer: I am a concerned, ALPA dues paying pilot with FedEx. I'm sure I will be attacked for this first post but I'm only posting due to the extraordinary circumstances that have arisen. Any division of our union can be blamed solely on the lack of our union leadership and those individuals that should resign from their positions due to their self admitted guilt.

Why would anyone question the motives of Someone Who 1st Joined\Learned of APC on 31 March 2019...at the age of 18?

Or, is your profile off by a bit?

I suppose one could do as he suggests and read the letters carefully.
