KCM Status
 

Any idea on finding out the status of our FDX KCM before we get to the the KCM desk at the airport?

Only ask to give myself and others more time when the system is down with no notice.

(Or maybe it wasn’t down and I was told it was so as not to deal with us cargo guys on going through KCM)

Just a WAG but VIPs was also down and the database that KCM uses to verify eligibility may be on the same server. Of course it could also just be a coincidence.

there is a dropdown tab for "verify employment" under your username (at the top, in blue)

Three of us used it in MEM today.. I did take a minute or two for the screen to populate, but then worked fine..

Problems usually occur when VIPS is down, which they tend to do mx on it early in the morning. If you're able to log into VIPS on your phone at the terminal there is a good chance that KCM will be working.
