Not really, since they go after their own employees abusing buddy passes.
This article is largely about their FA Wolfpack |

Not following what you mean. They went after the employee selling complete non rev benefits (not just buddy passes)
This article is largely about their FA Wolfpack Following now? And I'm pretty sure it was for selling buddy passes. |

Following now? And I'm pretty sure it was for selling buddy passes. I’m not following you either. First, they went after employees selling their travel benefits, and also those selling buddy passes. The second instance is about FAs selling trips to other FAs. |

So you're not following that United is going after employees?
Well, I wasn’t the only one confused by your statement. The two instances are within a month of each other. So it seems like this is a new initiative in UAL’s part. Not something they’ve been doing all along. So yes, I also found it interesting. PS selling buddy passes is different than selling non-rev benefits. |
United employees can add an additional person or two as a “registered guest” for a year of nonrev benefits separate from buddy passes. This is separate from buddy passes... and why people could get $4k for selling them

I'm not sure how what the fa's are doing with the trips can be considered fraud. It doesn't sound like it's even against the contract. Not sure how they can enforce this in any way. What's the difference, really, than what we do here? Hey, I'll do a mutual PDO for your senior (higher paying) trip. Money is sometimes exchanged if people don't want to do PDO's. If you give me your trip this month, I'll give you a few in the future. What's the difference?

Reading the full article, rather than watching the short video, explains it quite well. There are two separate issues here: the first is about F/A's selling their passes. This quote is from the article: "Employees can give the passes, which permit inexpensive travel, to friends and family but cannot sell them. According to United, some passengers paid as much as $4,000 for a year’s worth of discounted flights."
The second issue is (Wolfpack of F/A's) that senior F/A's were bidding on the best trips, with the intention of SELLING them to less senior F/A's, and were doing so. This from the article: "Those trades are not the issue,” McKeen said. “What we’re addressing is the growing problem of selecting, trading, or parking a pairing to broker, buy, or sell it to another flight attendant." As an aside, Riverside, you sound like a jerk. That is all! JJ |

I was non-revving on UAL last year out of IAH. The flt. showed a smiley face. I got there and there were 40 UAL nr's. I sat for a while and noticed none spoke English. When I went to the agent to buy a ticket, I asked her about it. She said "Use your imagination."
