Default VCP Deadhead gouge.

Hey, any 767 Capts or FO’s that have done the relief pilot trip down to VCP, then DH’ed out, any tips on the DH, especially for getting home a day early? PM me if you like. I have four(4) of them during the May bid month. Looking for the corporate knowledge. Thanks.

Also, who is our contact down there?

The country notes have the contact down there. I think we get there about 3 PM and the scheduled cab to GRU is at 4 PM. It is up to a three hour ride in heavy traffic VCP to GRU. All of the flights leave GRU to USA about 830 pm. American has an AM flight to Miami. You can definitely cut out the DFW layover so that is one day early right there. I think JetBlue has a VCP to FLL flight might look at that to cut out the cab. Coming back is on American so you have a limited bank. The delta bank is much better. Bottomline it is not hard, transportation (including Uber) works. But you are pretty beat up when you get there.

Pretty much that's it

Just a quick correction: Azul has VCP-FLL and VCP-MCO

So you would suggest taking the scheduled AA deadhead(GRU-DFW), after taking the scheduled rest period, then just continuing on to home after that flight?

Yes. You can also fly American to LAX or MIA for about the same bank.
